Liturgical Ministries
Youths at Good Shepherd serve in many important ways during worship services. Here are some of the ways they are involved.
Acolytes Youths from 3rd through 12th grade serve at the altar during the Eucharist doing everything from carrying the cross to helping set the table for communion. If you are interested in this ministry contact Brian Goforth or Tina Henry at office@goodshepherdvancouver.org
Choir & ShepherdSong Music is an important part of worship in our parish and in other youth events in our diocese and in our Columbia Youth Network. If you are a singer or play a musical instrument and would like more information contact Louis or the church office office@goodshepherdvancouver.org
Lectors Reading from the Holy Bible comes during the first part of our worship called the 'liturgy of the word.' We are always looking for more youths to read!
Eucharistic Ministers Also known as 'chalice bearers' these are the people who help the clergy administer communion during the Eucharist. Youths who serve as Eucharistic Ministers are high schoolers who have been through a short training and been licensed through the diocese.
Greeters & Ushers Making people feel welcome and comfortable when then walk in the door on Sunday mornings is a very important part of being the church and representing God to all people. Greeters and Ushers are often the first people that visitors encounter and can leave a lasting impression of the church at Good Shepherd.
